A little bit about me...
Before I entered traditional real estate, I learned the business from the ground up in the investment world. My family and I did it all—flips, land contracts, and fixer-uppers. I took immense pride in working alongside my dad and brothers, but I will never forget the exact day I decided to get my license. I was laying ceramic tile—my absolute least favorite, dirtiest, and most tedious construction job—when our real estate agent walked in wearing clean clothes, sporting a huge smile, and looking completely stress-free. I looked down at the tile, looked up at him, and decided right then and there: it’s time.
I passed my test in December 2014 and hit production in early 2015. Like many hungry new agents, I spent my first few years driving 40 minutes in every direction across the Metro Detroit sprawl. By year three, I was completely burned out. I realized that trying to take every piece of territory wasn't sustainable, nor was it how I wanted to serve people.
So, I made a purposeful shift to go hyperlocal. I chose to focus entirely on becoming the absolute best real estate resource in the city where I live, work, and raise my family.
Today, I am proud to be the #1 ranked agent in Livonia and my zip code. I didn't achieve this by showing up in a three-piece suit with an earpiece, trying to hard-close people into a signature. I do it by sitting down at your kitchen table, walking you through the actual market data, and putting value over pressure. If you want a flashy corporate show, I am probably not your guy. If you want clear, disarming communication and honest advice, that is exactly what I deliver.
My ties to Livonia run much deeper than property lines. I come from a family of educators, so community education and strong infrastructure mean everything to me. I am proud to serve our neighborhood as an elected official on the Livonia Public Schools Board of Education, on the Education Foundation, and as the Vice Chair of the Library Commission.
Now, as I launch my independent brokerage, MacFarland & Company, and open our new brick-and-mortar office right in the center of town, my focus remains unchanged. I am building a niche storefront designed to survive on deep expertise and real service. Whether you are a first-time buyer trying to get your foot in the door or a baby boomer ready to transition out of your long-time family home, I am here to serve as your trusted, down-to-earth local guide.
